- What information is needed to start the shipping process?
-
After receiving your payment, AA Japan will ask you for the information needed to complete the shipping process. This includes: consignee name, notify party, and your DHL address. The consignee is the importer of the vehicle who is legally allowed to receive the vehicle. The notify party is the name and address details of the person who should be notified of the arrival of the cargo, and could be the actual buyer or receiver of the vehicle, clearing and forwarding agent or dealer. Your DHL address is the address where all documents (B/L, Export Certificate and Quality Certificate) will be sent.
- Are pre-export inspections required?
-
In some countries, it is compulsory to submit to an inspection imposed by import regulation. If your country has not imposed this rule, then a pre-export inspection is not necessary. An inspection certificate is mandatory in the following countries: Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Sri Lanka and Tanzania. For information on the current regulations of other countries, please refer to your local customs office.
- How long does it takes for the shipping vessel to reach the port of discharge?
-
We always do our best to find the fastest shipping vessel available. The following time estimates are based on our past experience: East Africa, 3-4 weeks; West Africa, 5-6 weeks; South America, 4-5 weeks; Pacific region, 2 weeks; Southeast Asia, 1-2 weeks; Australia, 2-3 weeks; Indian subcontinent and Persian Gulf, 2-3 weeks; Caribbean Islands, 5 weeks. Please note that AA Japan cannot guarantee any maximum duration of shipping. The shipping company holds sole responsibility for the duration of a vessel’s journey.
- How can I get information regarding my shipping?
-
AA Japan has implemented a new innovative tool on its website: “My Purchases”. With My Transactions, you can follow all steps of an order from initial inquiry to final completion. You can check on the status of a transaction (inquiry, waiting for payment, waiting for information, in preparation, shipping or completed), see shipping information (ETD, ETA, port of departure, port of discharge), pass on information to your sales consultant and download a copy of all related documents (proforma invoice, B/I, quality certificate and export certificate).
- Is there possibilities that the shipping schedule will change?
-
Yes, some changes may occur in the shipping schedule. Any such changes are made by the shipping company and take place due to a range of factors. These include: meteorological issues, technical issues, etc., all of which are beyond AA Japan’s control.
- Why is the shipping vessel's eta blank?
-
Sometimes a shipping company may plan a journey without yet having decided an ETA. In such situations, we will inform you of the ETA as soon as we receive this information from the shipping company.
